Thanet District Council

Envirocure has worked with Thanet District Council for over a decade, initially via their heating contractor during the ALMO East Kent Housing period. Following the disbandment of East Kent Housing, Thanet District Council directly awarded us a contract to provide comprehensive water hygiene services across approximately 23 sites in Ramsgate and Margate, Kent.

The scope of this ongoing contract includes identifying and assessing sources of risk, implementing and managing preventative measures, and monitoring precautions in line with Legionella Control Policy requirements.

Scope of Work

Our services for Thanet District Council cover a range of monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks, including:

  • Monthly Tasks:
    • Temperature checks at principal, subordinate, and all outlets.
  • Quarterly Tasks:
    • Expansion vessel flushing.
    • Shower cleaning.
  • Annual Tasks:
    • Tank inspections and any required chlorination.
    • Calorifier inspections and subsequent actions.
    • TMV (Thermostatic Mixing Valve) inspections and associated actions.
  • Water Sampling: Regular water sampling to detect potential contaminants.
  • Risk Assessments: Conducted by our in-house, fully qualified risk assessors, providing detailed reports with site surveys, schematics, and actionable recommendations.
  • Remedial Works: Approved actions following risk assessments and inspections.

We are collaborating with the council to identify properties suitable for cold water storage tank mains conversion, reducing obligations under their Legionella Control Policy.
