Case Study
Dover District Council

Envirocure has worked with Dover District Council for over a decade, initially through East Kent Housing (EKH) during its tenure as an ALMO. After EKH disbanded and maintenance responsibilities reverted to individual councils, we transitioned to working directly with Dover District Council. Our contract includes delivering comprehensive water hygiene services across 12 sites and 36 blocks in and around Dover, Kent, ensuring compliance with HSG274 Part 2 for hot and cold water systems.

Scope of Work

Our services for Dover District Council include a range of monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks to control Legionella bacteria:

  • Monthly Tasks: Temperature checks and monitoring.
  • Quarterly Tasks: Shower descales, calorifier blow downs, and TMV servicing.
  • Annual Tasks: Disinfections, internal inspections of calorifiers, and cold water storage tank inspections.

We also provide:

  • Risk Assessments: Comprehensive assessments with detailed reports and actionable recommendations.
  • Remedial Works: Implementing necessary system upgrades and alterations to ensure compliance.
  • Legionella Control Programme: Thermal compliance checks, fibreoptic inspections of hot water vessels, and system upgrades to mitigate risks.

Mains Conversion Support: Working with the council to identify properties suitable for mains conversion, reducing the need for cold water storage tanks and easing compliance obligations.
